I wanna do bad things with you
Jun. 13th, 2009 09:36 amI've been entranced lately by the first season of TrueBlood ... there's something about this series that just grips me. It's on HBO, and the first season is out on DVD. This is the synopsis from HBO:
Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, True Blood tells the tale of Sookie (Oscar®-winner Anna Paquin), a perky waitress with telepathic gifts -- and an irresistible attraction to a vampire named Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Surrounded by colorful local characters -- including roguish brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), enamored boss Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), saucy pal Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), and beloved "Gran" Adele Stackhouse (Lois Smith) -- Sookie sets out to prove that humans and vampires can not only co-exist, but can find something akin to true love.
Vampires have come out of the coffin thanks to a revolutionary synthetic blood that can sustain them, ridding them of the need to feed on Humans. Of course ... the occasional bite is just that much more delicious. Slap all of this in a little town called Beau Temps in Louisana where it's hot and men and women wear skimpy clothing ... *slurp* It's a funny, weird, gory and oddly gripping series, even if I have no kind of clue where it's going.
OH ... and you must MUST listen to the main theme ... Jace Everett - Bad Things. *swoon* It's on repeat in my house.
