My boyfriend is reading HBP and he logged on to an online game this morning before work. Keep in mind he's in the middle of the book and is reading it quite fast (almost as fast as me).

... someone shouted a spoiler of the end of the book to him.

He is so barking mad, it's not even funny.

Wow, you really haven't been here for a while...

Just imagine how it's like to log on to your LJ and find your whole frieds list filled with these (http://www.livejournal.com/community/snape_potter/600020.html).

Ick, that's just wrong. :( But actually, it was like that some time ago too, I just took an oath to avoid TV, computers and friends during my read of Harry Potter. Which, essentially, is about five hours. ;)

It started about a week before the book came out. Just insane. I used to see, I don't know, 20 posts a day from this user alone. He virtually spammed dozens of communities over and over again. And there were others too. Apparently, it was so important to spoil the masses of HP nurds, that the spammers actually built sites for that and spammed all over LJ for a week. Talk about having no life... :/

I complained to LJ and they said that there was nothing illegal about repeatedly spamming communities with spoilers. *rolls eyes*

Yeow. My condolences to the BF. I had no problem avoiding spoilers on LJ thankfully, but I stayed the heck away from my online games when I started reading because it's so much easier for something to get blurted that shouldn't have been blurted.

Eeeebil hexes to the blurter of the spoiler...

I can't fathom why people do things like that. I mean, how much of a wimp do I sound when my only reason against it is "but...it's MEAN!"

::sigh::

Dude. That's one of those times when you wish you could jump through the internet and stab someone, isn't it?

Worst of it is that I think it's someone he knows. But yes. Totally. I agree. This is, again, why I shelter myself completely and read the book in one sitting. For these anyway.

First thing Friday morning, a customer came into my bookstore and spoiled me. To which I wanted to respond, "You know, I've had the books in my back room for a week, and have managed to resist opening the boxes. Thank you for rewarding my self-control by spoiling me twenty-four hours before I'll have it read!!!!" But, since that might have driven me to AK her, I just said, "Please keep your voice down. Other customers here want to read it for themselves." Then I spent the rest of the day convincing myself that it's just a rumor.

Gah, I wonder if anyone think of how disrespectful it is to spoil someone. I remember a few (rare) occasions where I was talking about a movie to someone and another who joined the conversation caught a spoiler I was discussing. I felt bad for an entire week and kept apologizing to the person everytime I saw her. I think it was the Sixth Sense I was discussing. It ended up that I was lucky and she wasn't that interested in watching it, but I felt awful all the same. Some are just ignorant and do it without knowing how pissy it is for others who like to remain unspoiled.

My MSN at work is different (we were told not to use it 'externally' during work hours) so let's try to get together after 6pm tonight ... I'll be at home. Love you and miss you terribly dear!

BTW, last night I wasn't on for the good and simple reason I was hanging around the boyfriend to discuss every chapter he finished. ;)

Oh, but you're back in Switzerland? Gah. That's an awful late time for you then (6 EST). Let me know if you'll be up. If not, send me an e-mail. Will send you one right after work.
