My boyfriend is reading HBP and he logged on to an online game this morning before work. Keep in mind he's in the middle of the book and is reading it quite fast (almost as fast as me).

... someone shouted a spoiler of the end of the book to him.

He is so barking mad, it's not even funny.

First thing Friday morning, a customer came into my bookstore and spoiled me. To which I wanted to respond, "You know, I've had the books in my back room for a week, and have managed to resist opening the boxes. Thank you for rewarding my self-control by spoiling me twenty-four hours before I'll have it read!!!!" But, since that might have driven me to AK her, I just said, "Please keep your voice down. Other customers here want to read it for themselves." Then I spent the rest of the day convincing myself that it's just a rumor.

Gah, I wonder if anyone think of how disrespectful it is to spoil someone. I remember a few (rare) occasions where I was talking about a movie to someone and another who joined the conversation caught a spoiler I was discussing. I felt bad for an entire week and kept apologizing to the person everytime I saw her. I think it was the Sixth Sense I was discussing. It ended up that I was lucky and she wasn't that interested in watching it, but I felt awful all the same. Some are just ignorant and do it without knowing how pissy it is for others who like to remain unspoiled.
